Outsmarting the SAT by Elizabeth King
(Ten Speed, 2008)

In 2008 Elizabeth published Outsmarting the SAT (Ten Speed), a guide to mastering the SAT that shows students, literally, What They Need to Know and How They Ask The Questions. Elizabeth’s book is smart, concise, respectful of its reader, and written to seriously educate its reader above all. Truly, Outsmarting the SAT is the test prep book the big test companies have worked to squash. But don’t take our word for it:

Hi, I’m a senior in NJ. I just wanted to let you know that your book is amazing! It started with one kid in my class buying it, then a couple more, and soon enough almost my entire class had your book. Everyone recommends it now, including teachers. I’m taking the SAT this Sunday and I’ve never understood the concepts and ideas as well as I do now. We’ll see how I do, but thanks for everything! ~Avi ’11, NJ

I just read your chapter on writing an essay. It’s excellent–it’s a bit intimidating as it’s so good. ~Parent of c/o ’10, Toronto
