We think most test prep companies stink.

And who are we? Elizabeth King Coaching is a private tutoring and test prep group based out of New York City and Palm Beach that teaches students online. We’ve been working with families who want the very best for their children, from New York to Palm Beach and Palm Springs to Toronto, for nearly a decade.

We’re a group of gifted teachers, writers, and general smarty-pants-types who believe in using test prep as a conduit for real learning. In keeping with our philosophy, we’re generally against guessing-based test prep. We use our time to not only significantly increase your SAT or ACT scores but also teach material and critical thinking tactics that you can actually use in college. After all, isn’t that the point?

Is test prep for the SAT or ACT even worth doing? Absolutely.

It came as no surprise to anyone at Elizabeth King Coaching when a recent study claimed that the average student gains a meager 30 extra points after prepping for the SAT with the big test prep companies. You usually only need 3 to 5 more right answers to get more 30 points. So why weren’t we surprised by the results of the study?
